The living and dining space were initially a wide open single space which I separated with a custom made curio shelf along with a seating space facing towards the dining so to provide a semi- private space to the family while having visitors or guests. The 'Last Supper' art piece being a wood carved art work so that when lit from below, it gives an interesting detail. The false ceiling design are designed to be grand yet sleek and it really binds up and defines the space. In addition, the indoor courtyard with multi-plant landscape with natural light falling to it from the sky light provided above gives the space a lively comfort.
Set amid the tropical village in the outskirts of Changanaserry town; bounded by luscious greenery and alluring vista is the dream project of an NRI couple with two young children. The clients had a particular need of utilizing every inch of the space that can be accommodated for storage and they wanted all things made out of natural teakwood. So I presented them with this amazing spatial creation with bespoke designs that met all their needs and beyond. The goal was to create an indigenous space with a touch of modernity that can occupy maximum storage space and seating capacity, indoor-outdoor experience, bright, warm, welcoming and a soothing experience and I was successful in delivering such a design.
The house comes with 4 bedrooms each with different layouts. The client was very specific with their need for storage, a reading/working space for every room and they needed it to be a spacious. So I went for a subtle color scheme that goes with the teak wood finish they where planning to bring in with a wallpapered highlight walls that blends well with each rooms and the respective furnishings. Maximum storage space were created in every bedrooms to meet all their storage needs yet providing a clutter free zone for a calm flow of energy.
